Experience historic charm and modern style at the Aladdin Holiday Inn, a restored vintage 1925 beauty in downtown next to the convention center and near Power and Light.

Aladdin Holiday Inn

Hip Style, Vintage Charm

Welcome to the historic, award-winning Aladdin Hotel! A Holiday Inn affiliate, our history and emphasis on service make us unique. You’ll be greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne when you arrive in our breathtaking lobby, which features the original tile floor and restored colonnade. We treat every guest with old-fashioned attention worthy of silver screen star Greta Garbo, who frequented the Aladdin in the 1930s.

Visit the recently-renovated Zebra Room Restaurant and lounge (a former hangout of Micky Mantle), which serves breakfast and dinner and had a pivotal role in racial integration in the city. Or relax in our second-floor Martini Loft Lounge overlooking the lobby.

Built in 1925, and once the tallest building in the city, our hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places. You’ll find us to be a pleasantly different stay, with non-standard room layouts and original building features such as our original mail-chutes, which are still functional and collected daily by the post office. We have king rooms, double rooms, and suites available, but every room on a floor features a different layout – a quirk that is part of the hotel’s charm.

Our hotel staff know and are passionate about the history of our vintage beauty and are happy to answer any of your questions about its unique past.  Just ask!

What People Are Saying

“Wait what?! This is a Holiday Inn? No way! I was greeted by friendly staff and a bottle of champagne. WHAT?! CHAMPAGNE! A bottle all to myself.  The bed was huge, I could have fit myself and 3 other people in the king easily. The bed was also very comfortable. The bathroom is a decent size with dual shower heads. In the morning when you go downstairs they have small bites, I think it was a mini blueberry muffin and a coffee crumble cake. They had coffee on the table as well. Nice touch as I ran out of the building for my day. The rooms may be a little small, but I really loved the bed. The location is also great, easily walkable to the Power and Light district.  The day I checked out they were just as nice as when I check in. Fantastic staff. Great stay and if I come back to KC I will stay here.”

The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. They always seem excited to to help make your stay enjoyable. We live just 50 miles from the Aladdin but we stay there any time we have the chance. If you have a choice of hotels in downtown Kansas City, please try the Aladdin. You will not be disappointed!”
